About Jetcool

Liquid Cooled Chip - JetCool

Data centers are prominent for powering our digital lives. In a previous article, I discussed Groq, a chipmaker seeking to accelerate the speed of LLMs while reducing the energy consumption demanded by GPUs. Some companies, such as Google, build their own data centers while others, such as Groq, depend on data center colocation to store their hardware to be served to users. Colocation is a service available to companies with their own hardware and infrastructure needs. This way companies only have to provide their hardware, leaving them only to front the bill for power, cooling, and maintenance. New innovations are required in data center infrastructure to keep hardware up and running to meet developer demands. Jetcool has created direct-to-chip liquid cooling hardware to reduce the energy demands and costly infrastructure to keep the demand for AI clouds up and running.

Jetcool Advantage

In the September version of Venture Capital Journal, editor Lawrence Aragon’s letter discusses the investments in infrastructure to meet the demand for AI applications, “The computers in data centers generate incredible amounts of heat. Increasing temperatures are driving operators to move beyond traditional air cooling of server racks to liquid cooling.” Backed by In-Q-Tel, America’s eminent venture firm dedicated to innovation in national defense, Jetcool’s technology employs arrays of small fluid jets, these modules precisely target hot spots on processors, transforming high-power electronic cooling performance at the chip or device level.

Their patented cooling technology is seamlessly integrated into each product, ranging from fully sealed cold plates to advanced fluid-to-package and fluid-to-die modules.

As artificial intelligence continues to drive up rack density in data centers, operators are facing increasingly strict power limitations. Jetcool's liquid cooling solutions are proving instrumental in helping data centers reduce power consumption while simultaneously maximizing compute per rack. This dual benefit enhances both efficiency and performance, allowing AI operations to scale without hitting the thermal ceiling that has long constrained traditional air-cooled systems.

Future Data Center Infrastructure

The demand for more powerful, energy-efficient computing solutions will only grow. Jetcool's innovative approach to thermal management represents a critical piece of the puzzle in building sustainable, high-performance AI infrastructure.

By addressing the cooling challenge at the most fundamental level – the chip itself – Jetcool is not just solving today's thermal management problems but paving the way for the next generation of AI hardware. As companies continue to develop faster, more efficient hardware, technologies like Jetcool's will be essential in ensuring these advancements can be fully realized in real-world deployment.
